STEAM Design: Case Study
Mushroom Mycology
Purpose:
Create a simple concise learning experience to gain knowledge and apply to a real world application to increase mycology awareness. Design a template for subject matter specific learning to open and access easily through LMS, download if needed and complete the assignment without direct guidance from an instructor, self paced learning and use of time management skills for 21st Century Skills.
Focus:
Mycology Discovery Learning combining multiple disciplines to increase awareness in Mycology research, documentation and identification of mushrooms in nature.
Software:
To demonstrate how an instructor can create a quick yet effective design training, course or unit of study by observing Canva for a basic outline can help spark insights into what a learning experience could be. This process can eliminate unnecessary design flaws, color mishaps, image and text distortion by non designers. Canva is a great tool for non graphic designers to build professional looking content and easily adaptable as needed for a LMS or CMS.
By using Adobe Illustrator or InDesign a more precise design for corporate learning and training environments are best and Articulate Rise or Storyline can be utilized to build quizzes or drag and drops to make the user experience more interactive.
